There’s nothing like brotherly love, and we’re seeing it in full force with the Jackson family! Michael Jackson’s youngest son, Blanket Jackson, made a rare public appearance over the weekend to celebrate his older brother Prince Jackson’s college graduation. Blanket, who has mostly stayed out of the spotlight in recent years, was seen smiling and posing for pictures at the joyful celebration on Sunday, May 12.
Prince Jackson Shares Heartfelt Graduation Message
In a touching Instagram post, Prince, 22, shared a series of photos from the graduation festivities and wrote a heartfelt caption expressing his gratitude and pride. “Yesterday I graduated from Loyola Marymount University Cum Laude in the school of business with a focus on entrepreneurship,” Prince wrote. “The experience was truly unforgettable. I met so many incredible people and learned so much that, honestly, the journey itself was worth every moment.”
Prince went on to say, “I can’t thank everyone who helped me get here, but a big shout-out goes to my uncles T.J., Taryll, and Taj Jackson, who kept pushing me when I wanted to give up. While I can’t say yet if everything was worth it, I’m incredibly proud of my degree. It’s a testament to my dedication and discipline. I’m also thankful for LMU’s commitment to educating the whole person and instilling Jesuit values, which I believe inspire graduates like me to keep striving to make the world a better place.”

I wish I could thank everyone that helped me make it to the end but I can’t and unfortunately they’re not all pictured here. But the biggest thanks goes to @tjjackson9 and his brothers @tarylljackson and @tajjackson who kept pushing me to graduate and finish up my degree when I wanted to quit. Blanket Jackson’s Journey Since Michael’s Passing
While Prince and his sister Paris Jackson have embraced the Hollywood spotlight that their legendary father left behind, Blanket, 17, has mostly stayed out of the public eye since Michael’s tragic death in 2009. Born as Prince Michael Jackson II, Blanket currently attends a private school in Los Angeles and lives under the guardianship of his cousin, T.J. Jackson. Until 2017, Blanket and his siblings were under the care of their grandmother, Katherine Jackson. Now, the young teen is slowly stepping into the public sphere, showing support for his family in moments like these.

Recalling the Iconic Balcony Moment
For many fans of the late “Thriller” singer, Blanket’s name brings back memories of the infamous balcony incident in 2002, when he was just 9 months old. During a press event in Germany, Michael Jackson held Blanket over a balcony railing, with the infant’s face covered by a towel. Though Michael later claimed he was simply trying to show off his youngest child, the moment sparked widespread outrage and concern for the child’s safety.

Following the incident, Michael issued an apology. “I offer no excuses for what happened,” he said in a statement. “I got caught up in the excitement of the moment. I would never intentionally endanger the lives of my children.”
We can only imagine how proud Michael would be of his children today and how much they miss him. Here’s to a family continuing to thrive and honor his legacy.
