Elton John and David Furnish: A Lifetime Together
Let me tell you something, folks. Elton John, the legendary singer who’s been lighting up stages for decades, recently opened up about his personal life. In a candid conversation with The Sun, Elton revealed that he and his husband, David Furnish, have thought about expanding their family—but time just isn’t on their side anymore. At 72 years old, Elton joked, “That’s it, I mean we’re too old to have anymore.”
It’s not that they don’t want more kids; it’s just reality. “If we were 20 years, 15 years younger, we’d have probably had another one at least,” he admitted. But with their two sons, Zachary, 8, and Elijah, 6, already in the picture, Elton feels they’ve got plenty to keep them busy. “But with the boys, we’ve got enough on our hands,” he added with a chuckle.

Being a Dad: A Whole New World
Elton and David, who’ve been married since 2014, are clearly smitten with their little ones. “It’s fantastic being a dad,” Elton gushed. Now, here’s the kicker: Ten years ago, if someone had told him he’d be saying that, he’d have thought they were out of their mind. But parenthood has brought a new dimension to his life. “Ten years ago if you’d have told me that, I’d have said you’re crazy,” he confessed.

As a father, Elton’s priorities have shifted. He’s got “other things to do” now, like focusing on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which marks the end of an era for this iconic performer. But even with all the traveling and performing, Elton knows what truly matters. “Family is the most important thing,” he told The Mirror, explaining why he’s stepping away from the road life. “I just owe it to those children to be there for them.”
Time to Slow Down
Elton is more than ready to hang up his traveling shoes. Sure, he travels in style—luxurious jets, top-notch accommodations—but it’s lost its charm. “I’m fed up with traveling,” he admitted. “And I travel in the nicest, most comfortable, luxurious way but I find it really boring.” His boys need him, and he needs them. “My children need to be with me and I need to be with them. I would like to spend more time with David and my children.”
