In an emotional testament to family legacy, Jack Perry, the son of the late Luke Perry, is set to make his acting debut in Quentin Tarantino's highly anticipated film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. This unique collaboration brings Jack alongside his late father in a poignant nod to their shared passion for the craft.
Jack Perry Shares the Story Behind His Debut
Jack, now 21, opened up about the opportunity during an appearance on the Talk Is Jericho podcast hosted by WWE superstar Chris Jericho. “Dad was like, ‘I want you to be in the same film or collection of footage that I’m in,’ and he was really adamant about it," Jack recounted. "I was like, ‘Alright dad, I’ll do it.’” It’s a touching tribute to Luke Perry, who passed away earlier this year, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable performances.

Luke Perry's Excitement About Working with Tarantino
Jack also revealed just how thrilled his father was to work with Quentin Tarantino, the legendary filmmaker known for his distinctive storytelling. “My dad was so excited about that. It really reinvigorated him and reenergized him. He said, ‘If I never work again, I’m happy with this,’” Jack explained. Quentin Tarantino himself expressed admiration for Luke Perry, handpicking him for the role due to its symbolic importance in the film.

A Legacy of Passion and Pride
“Tarantino told me, ‘I handpicked your dad for this,’ I guess because his role was kind of symbolic,” Jack said. “He definitely knew he wanted my dad for it.” This isn’t the first time Jack, who competes as professional wrestler "Jungle Boy," has highlighted his father's excitement over the film. In a heartfelt Instagram post in March, Jack captioned the film’s poster, “He was so proud of this, and so am I. Always a stud.”

Anticipation Builds for Quentin Tarantino's New Film
The eagerly awaited Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set for release on July 26 and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. Fans are buzzing about what promises to be another masterpiece from Tarantino. While Luke Perry enjoyed a storied career in films and TV, including his iconic role in Beverly Hills, 90210, Jack admits he wasn’t overly familiar with all his dad’s work. “I really haven’t watched a ton of him acting, but he did these movies in Canada, like Goodnight for Justice,” Jack shared on the podcast. “He did those because he loved cowboy movies and he always wanted to be a cowboy. He did these movies so he could ride a horse. That, I think, in my heart, that’s my favorite [film of his] because that’s him doing what he wanted to do.”

Remembering Luke Perry
Luke Perry, who is also survived by his 18-year-old daughter Sophie, passed away on March 4 after suffering a stroke.
