Anna, in a candid chat with People, joked about how her 6-year-old son seems completely unfazed by his parents' celebrity status. “Jack has this incredible awareness that both his parents are in Hollywood, but it’s almost like he’s not impressed, which is kind of annoying,” the 42-year-old actress said with a laugh. Anna and Chris, 39, went their separate ways in the summer of 2017 after eight years of marriage, but Jack’s lack of awe for his famous parents remains a constant in their lives.
Jack’s Unique Perspective on Fame
Even though Jack might not be too interested in his parents' Hollywood careers, Anna is cherishing every moment of this stage in his life. In an Instagram post, Anna shared a glimpse of Jack’s playful side after a performance. The caption read, “Jack! Growing up! This is post-performance so I just want to tackle him. Anna shared more about Jack’s playful nature during the interview. “He loves making traps. He’ll set up ropes so I trip over them, and annoyingly, I seem to fall for it all the time,” she revealed. “We play a lot of imaginary games, and I play Aunt Vanya, who is not the nicest. He absolutely loves trying to trap Aunt Vanya.”
She went on to say, “Six is such a perfect age. Their voices haven’t changed yet, they’re funny, and they’re starting to become more aware of the world around them. So Jack wants to be independent and cool, but he’s still that snuggly kid who loves to cuddle.”
Anna also mentioned the fleeting nature of this stage in Jack’s life. “It’s such a precious time, and I know it’s going to disappear eventually. Soon, he’ll be stinky and sweaty, and I’ll be asking, ‘When was the last time you showered? Why are the sheets sticky?’”

Even though Jack might not be wowed by his parents’ fame, Anna emphasized how close they are. “He crawls into bed with me every night, but he’ll pretend to need to go to the bathroom in my room. It’s so sweet. It’s like, ‘Mom, I need to go to the bathroom,’ but then he’ll snuggle into bed with me,” she told the outlet.
It’s clear that despite the challenges of raising a child in the spotlight, Anna and Chris are doing their best to keep things normal for Jack. And honestly, this kid is a total pro at being cute!
