Zoe Saldana Isn't Happy About Turning 41 Soon: 'It’s Not OK'

Let’s be real—celebrities, just like the rest of us, aren’t always thrilled about getting older. Take Zoe Saldana, for instance. The stunning actress, who’s set to celebrate her 41st birthday this summer, has opened up about her complex feelings surrounding aging. If she could stop the clock, she just might. As Zoe puts it, she’s “not thrilled” about this next milestone. But hey, who could blame her?

In a recent candid conversation with People, Zoe dove deep into the realities of aging. The Avatar star reminisced about a childhood moment where her mom once said, “I blinked and I was old.” At the time, Zoe thought, “Ew. That’s never gonna happen to me.” Fast forward to today, and she admits, “Oh, that’s what that blink meant. That’s what she meant when she said, ‘I blinked.’” It’s a powerful reminder that time waits for no one, even Hollywood’s brightest stars.

While Zoe might not be thrilled about the number on her driver’s license increasing, she’s definitely feeling the physical effects of aging. “My knees hurt,” she joked. “When I squat to pick up my kids and stay there for more than a minute, I don’t just bounce back like I used to. If I tried, I’d probably pull a charley horse!” It’s a relatable sentiment for anyone who’s ever tried to keep up with little ones and discovered their body isn’t as forgiving as it once was.

Aging brings its own set of challenges, but Zoe’s humor makes it a little easier to swallow.

Though Zoe isn’t exactly jumping for joy about aging, she’s using this time in her life to focus on what truly matters—her family. Alongside her husband Marco Perego, she’s raising three beautiful children: twin sons Bowie Perego-Saldana and Cy Perego-Saldana, who are 4, and their youngest son Zen Perego-Saldana, who’s 2. Zoe balances her role as a mom with her successful career in Hollywood, starring in some of the biggest movie franchises around. Recently, she decided to take a break from the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown to spend quality time with her loved ones.

“There’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel and a break to be with Marco and the boys,” a close friend of Zoe’s told Star. It’s clear that, despite the challenges of aging, Zoe is cherishing every moment with her family.
