The 51-year-old actress recently turned up at her son Samuel's 7th birthday party dressed as Astrid Hofferson from How to Train Your Dragon. And while Jennifer was all in for the fun, her son wasn’t quite as thrilled with his mom’s costume.
Jennifer shared a hilarious moment from the party on Instagram, posting a picture of herself dressed as Astrid while holding a Toothless-themed birthday cake. "Well, guess what," she joked in the caption. "It turns out 7 is the age my kid stops thinking it’s cool when I dress up for the party." To get into character, she went all out with face paint, a fur shawl, boots, and even a leather skirt over leggings. But despite her efforts, Samuel wasn’t exactly amused.

But perhaps Samuel’s birthday party was a wake-up call for Jennifer. Maybe next time, she’ll stick to regular clothes for the celebration. Still, her love for her family is undeniable. "I love the laughter," she told Heat. "Family is very important to me." And who can blame her?

She often takes Samuel, Violet (13), and Seraphina (10) back to her family farm in Oklahoma. "I want them to learn that we don’t need all kinds of stuff to be happy," she explained. "And this is the perfect way to teach them that." It’s clear that Jennifer values her role as both a celebrity and a mom, and she’s determined to pass those values down to her children.
