It's been over two decades since Kevin Nealon was part of the iconic Saturday Night Live cast, yet the comedy legend remains close to some of his former colleagues. Recently, the 65-year-old comedian spilled the tea on who he still keeps in touch with from his SNL days. Let's dive into the scoop, shall we?

In a recent exclusive chat with Closer Weekly, Nealon revealed that he regularly stays in touch with Dana Carvey, calling him a "good friend." The duo isn't just catching up occasionally—they talk a couple of times a week and meet up once or twice weekly. "I see [David] Spade," Nealon added. "And I'm working with Norm Macdonald this week. He’s a Canadian comedian, and a pretty hilarious one at that!" Nealon also mentioned seeing Lorne Michaels occasionally and bumping into Nora Dunn from time to time. It seems like the SNL gang is still a tight-knit group, even after all these years.

When asked if he'd ever return to the SNL stage as a guest host, Nealon didn't hesitate. "Yeah, I think that would be fun," he said with a smile. Nealon's tenure on SNL spanned from 1986 to 1995, and after that, he went on to star in the critically acclaimed Showtime series Weeds. But what about those who leave SNL and see their careers skyrocket afterward? Nealon had some insightful thoughts on that.

According to Nealon, "SNL has a finite lifespan for cast members. You get burnt out on the show after a while because you give it everything you've got. Eventually, you run out of ideas, tricks, and fresh material. Plus, they bring in new talent regularly—it's a revolving door." It's clear that the fast-paced nature of SNL can take its toll, but it also serves as an incredible launching pad for many comedians' careers.

Nealon's old pal, Dana Carvey, also experienced a thriving career post-SNL, though he took a break in the '90s. In a past interview with Closer Weekly, Carvey explained his decision to step back: "I thought my career was going to become overwhelming, so taking a break was crucial for me. I moved up to Northern California and did a lot of corporate stand-up. It allowed me to be a hands-on dad." Clearly, family life became a priority for Carvey, and he cherishes the balance he's found.

Carvey added, "The best thing about having a family is that you have things you care about more than show business. Once you have a wife and kids, you
