David Arquette Shares His Thoughts on Co-Parenting with Courteney Cox
You know, David Arquette has been making waves with his second career as a professional wrestler, but when it comes to co-parenting his 14-year-old daughter, Coco Arquette, with his ex-wife, Courteney Cox, he doesn’t see the need for any drama. “Divorce is painful enough for everyone involved—it’s such a waste of time and money to fight,” David exclusively told Closer Weekly during the recent Be Social for Justice Gala in NYC. “If someone’s thinking about putting on boxing gloves during a divorce, they’re making a big mistake.”

Respecting Each Other as Parents
David, now 47, and Courteney, 54, met and fell in love on the set of the iconic 1996 horror flick Scream. After nearly 14 years of marriage, they divorced in 2013, but they’ve managed to maintain a respectful co-parenting relationship. “We simply respect each other,” David explained. “No matter what life throws at you, you still have a child together. It’s crucial that your child knows you respect each other.” He emphasized that mutual respect is key, even after a breakup. “It’s about setting an example for your child,” David added.
Moving On and Wishing the Best
Both David and Courteney have moved on romantically. Courteney’s been in a long-term relationship with rocker Johnny McDaid, while David has two young sons with his second wife, former Entertainment Tonight correspondent Christina McLarty. Despite their new lives, Courteney remains supportive. “When you truly love someone, you want them to be happy, even if it’s not with you,” she said. This sentiment speaks volumes about the maturity and grace both exes have shown in their personal lives.
