Here’s what went down: Samantha, who’s estranged from Meghan, showed up unannounced on Saturday, Oct. 6, hoping to speak with her sister. But things didn’t go as planned. Instead of a heartfelt reunion, Samantha reportedly had an awkward standoff with the guards outside the palace. According to The Mirror, Samantha was asked to leave after an uncomfortable exchange. The news outlet even managed to snag some photos of the 53-year-old being wheeled out in a wheelchair, handing an envelope to the guard. We’re all dying to know what’s inside that letter, aren’t we? Chances are, it was meant for Meghan.

Why Was Samantha Turned Away?
“This was a bold move by Meghan’s sister to try to see her face-to-face, and the fact that she was turned away speaks volumes,” said a source to The Mirror. “This is the closest Meghan has physically come to that side of her family since she joined the royal family, but palace staff had clearly been instructed not to let her in.” It’s clear that the royal staff takes their duties seriously, and protecting the privacy of the family is a top priority.
Samantha’s Public Apology
Samantha’s trip to Kensington Palace follows a public apology she made to Meghan. In a candid moment, Samantha opened up about her feelings. “I think everyone was hurt at not being included or invited to the wedding,” she admitted. “But I felt as though it could have all been resolved had everyone been included, and we all agreed to move forward with positive resolve. The hurt feelings wouldn’t have snowballed.”
Speaking as if directly to Meghan, Samantha added, “Believe it or not, it doesn’t mean we love you any less.” She concluded her thoughts with a heartfelt wish: “I wish things could be different.”
Samantha’s London Visit
In a recent sit-down with Channel 5 in the UK, Samantha talked about her trip to London. “I’ve always wanted to see London, but really I wanted to make the trip and convey the wishes and thoughts and sentiments of my father, and hopefully get a message to my sister,” she explained. “Things aren’t really what they seem. There’s so much misconception. Hopefully, we could clear up the record and move forward with peaceful resolve.”
