Michael Bublé Reflects on Son Noah's Cancer Journey
More than a year after Michael Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, shared a hopeful update about their eldest son Noah Bublé’s cancer diagnosis, the singer has opened up about the emotional toll it took on their family. In a candid conversation with Australia’s Today Show on Wednesday, Oct. 3, Bublé revealed that there were days during Noah’s battle when they both “wished we didn’t wake up.”
“It was the hardest thing we’ve ever faced. As a parent, hearing that your child is sick—it’s unimaginable. It’s a nightmare that no one should ever have to go through,” Bublé shared. “There were so many moments when I wished it could have been me instead. I wanted to take the pain away from my son. Watching him fight was heart-wrenching.”

Learning From Adversity
Despite the challenges, Bublé found a silver lining in the experience. “Going through something like this gives you a new perspective on life,” he explained. “It forces you to appreciate the little things—the moments that truly matter. For me, it was spending time with my family, laughing together, and realizing how precious every second is.”
Bublé also revealed that the difficult period brought him closer to his wife. “Luisana and I rediscovered our love for each other during this time. We became a team in the truest sense of the word,” he told Stellar Magazine. “Food tasted better, music sounded sweeter, and our bond with our family grew stronger. It was a reminder of both the worst and the best parts of ourselves.”

A Family United
In February 2017, Michael and Luisana, who recently welcomed their third child, updated fans on Noah's progress via Facebook. “We are incredibly grateful to report that Noah has been progressing well during his treatment,” the couple wrote in a heartfelt statement. “The doctors are very optimistic about his future. He’s been brave throughout, and his courage continues to inspire us every day.”
“We thank God for the strength He has given all of us. Our gratitude to Noah’s doctors and caretakers cannot be expressed in words,” they added. “We’d also like to thank the thousands of people who have sent their prayers and good wishes. Your support and love mean the world to us as we continue this journey together.”
The post came just three months after Michael broke the news of Noah’s diagnosis on Facebook. “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah, who is currently undergoing treatment in the U.S.,” the singer wrote at the time. “We have always emphasized the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have paused our careers to focus all our time and energy on helping Noah get well.”

“We’ve always been open about our commitment to family and the love we have for our children. At this difficult time, we ask for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long road ahead, but with the support of family, friends, and fans around the world, we believe we can overcome this challenge, God willing,” Michael added. We’re thrilled to hear that Noah and his family are doing well today!
