In a heartfelt and candid interview with Closer Weekly, the beloved comedian and talk show host opened up about the possibility of having more children with her fiancée, Elizabeth Rooney. At 56 years old, Rosie says she’s not ruling anything out — because, let’s face it, life with Rosie is always full of surprises.

Could There Be More Babies in Rosie’s Future?

When asked if she’s ready to grow her family with Elizabeth, 33, Rosie had this to say: “Well, I think I’m done, but you never know with me. There could be a phone call like what happened with [my adopted daughter] Dakota, and here we go again. So I don’t know.” It’s clear that Rosie’s heart is always open to the idea of welcoming new life into her world, even if she’s a bit older than she used to be.

And as Rosie shares, her son Parker has a theory about why she might always be ready for another baby. “When Dakota was first born, my oldest boy Parker said, ‘You know mommy, you’re the happiest when you have a baby around.’ He’s like, ‘I’d like to tell you to stop, but you’re the happiest and it’s the truth!’” Rosie laughs, acknowledging that her love for children is something she can’t resist.

In fact, she compares it to a full-blown addiction. “Crack is like… for me, babies are crack,” she says with a chuckle. “Kids call me creeper because I see people with a stroller and I’m like, ‘Can I look at your baby?’ It used to be, ‘Can I hold your baby?’ When I was more famous, they would let me. Now I just have to say, ‘Can I look at your baby?’”

For Rosie, babies aren’t just cute — they’re life-changing. Her current family includes four children with ex Kelli Carpenter: Parker O’Donnell, 23, Chelsea O’Donnell, 21, Blake O’Donnell, 18, and Vivienne O’Donnell, 15. She also has a daughter, Dakota O’Donnell, 5, with her late ex-wife Michelle Rounds, who tragically passed away in September 2017. It wasn’t like my Mary Tyler Moore [Show]. It’s her Mary Tyler Moore, right. I can name everything of Mary Tyler Moore and every episode, and that’s how she is with The Golden Girls. And she has every Golden Girls paraphernalia girl you can buy. She’s the swag queen of Golden Girls,” Rosie gushes.
