Davy Jones' Daughter Opens up About Her Dad Five Years After His Death

Annabel Jones Reflects on Her Father's Life and Influence

Five years since the passing of the legendary Davy Jones at the age of 66, his daughter Annabel Jones, now 28, opens up in an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly about the unshakable bond she shared with her father and how he inspired all four of his daughters to be their best selves. In a heartfelt conversation, Annabel shares how her dad's influence continues to shape her life today, even after his untimely death.

Though Davy’s daughters came from different mothers—Sarah, 45, and Talia, 48, were from his first marriage to Linda Haines, while Jessica, 35, and Annabel were from his second wife, Anita Pollinger—they all carry the same cherished memories and admiration for the man who was their dad. Each of them feels his presence in their lives in a unique and profound way, and they remain deeply connected, honoring their father’s legacy together.

“My dad wanted us to be worldly, sophisticated, and well-educated women,” Annabel reminisces in her conversation with Closer. “It’s such a beautiful thing when you think about it. He was always so focused on empowering us and giving us the tools to succeed in life. He really wanted us to be strong, independent women who could handle anything that came our way.”

“He even taught us practical skills, like how to change a tire or understand how our cars worked,” Annabel continues. “He believed that we should know how to do things that ‘men would typically do.’ It was his way of making sure we were never at a disadvantage. That’s incredibly powerful, and it’s something that has stayed with me throughout my life.”

“He also encouraged us to speak up and stand up for ourselves,” Annabel adds. “He would always say, ‘Know your rights.’ That advice feels more relevant now than ever before, especially given the political climate we’re living in today. It’s like his voice is still guiding me, even after all these years.”

    A Legacy That Lives On

Though the loss of Davy Jones still lingers in the hearts of his daughters, they’ve found solace in continuing his work. In 2012, the same year he passed away from a heart attack, the sisters established the Davy Jones Equine Memorial Foundation. This organization was created to care for the herd of mostly retired racehorses that their father had rescued over the years. It’s a testament to his lifelong passion for horses and his commitment to giving back to the animals he loved so much.

“Looking back, I think my dad would say that his greatest accomplishment was his daughters,” Annabel reflects. “We’re all independent, driven, and outspoken women who have forged our own paths in life. He always admired strong women, and he raised us to be just that. I think he’d be incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved and the people we’ve become.”
