Family means everything, and Nicole Kidman knows that better than most. “The first thing I do after an event? I head straight home to my family,” Nicole revealed to InStyle. “I go in and snuggle my kids. They’re always waiting up for me, which is such a sweet gesture. And of course, I give my husband a big hug too. One piece of advice our family priest gave us early on in our marriage was golden: ‘Always kiss hello and kiss goodbye.’ It’s simple, but it keeps you connected in such a meaningful way.”
Building a Close-Knit Family Amid Chaos
Nicole and her husband, country music superstar Keith Urban, have been together since 2006, and they’ve built a beautiful life with their two daughters, Sunday Rose (10) and Faith Margaret (8). Even with their demanding careers, the couple makes sure to carve out quality time for their family. It’s not always easy, but they believe it’s worth every effort.

“We’re a very close family,” Nicole shared. “We invest the time, and we don’t take that for granted. Parenting is such a journey of growth—for both the parents and the kids. It’s not about molding them into what you want them to be; it’s about understanding who they are, supporting them as they find their own paths, and being there for them every step of the way.”

Nicole emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself while raising children. “It’s a rigorous process—always being aware, always reflecting on your actions and motivations,” she explained. “You’re constantly checking yourself to ensure you’re not projecting your own expectations onto your kids. I’m not claiming to be some kind of parenting expert. I’m just walking this path like everyone else, but it’s incredibly rewarding to do so.”
A Strong Partnership at the Core
Beyond being wonderful parents, Nicole and Keith also prioritize their relationship. Their mutual support and admiration keep their bond strong. “Keith is so supportive of me,” Nicole gushed during the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards. “He’s given me so much confidence, and the girls and I absolutely adore traveling. We travel as a family—it’s our lifestyle. It’s thrilling for all of us. Truly thrilling.”
