John, who’s now 55, couldn’t be more excited about the idea of expanding their family. “It’s definitely going to happen soon,” he said, with a big smile. John and Caitlin have a family cruise planned, and Caitlin’s been all about having another baby. “She’s been saying, ‘We’ve got to have a baby, we’ve got to have a baby!’” John shared. But then reality hits. “She realizes it might interfere with the cruise, so we might have to wait just a month or two,” he added with a laugh. During his chat with ET, he opened up about his thoughts on Billy using social media in the future. “Never,” he said firmly, when asked about Billy having an Instagram account. John has only posted pictures of Billy once on his own account, and it didn’t go quite as planned. “I got so much backlash online about how I was holding him or something,” John explained. “And I said, that’s it. I’m done.” It’s tough out there in the digital world, especially when all you want to do is share your joy with the world.
John understands that Instagram can sometimes feel like a double-edged sword. “You just want to share your happiness, and then you get criticized for it,” he said. But those critics have taught him a valuable lesson: to be more cautious about what he shares online. With Billy still so young, John believes it’s best to let him decide when he’s older if he wants to join the social media frenzy. “We’ll just have to wait until he’s old enough to make that choice,” John added thoughtfully.
