In an official statement released by a royal family spokesperson, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge expressed their excitement for Pippa and James. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James," the spokesperson said, speaking on behalf of Kate, 36, and Prince William, also 36. The Daily Mail's royals correspondent, Rebecca English, was the first to break the news on Twitter. "[Prince] George, [Princess] Charlotte, and [Prince] Louis have a new cousin! James and Pippa Matthews (Middleton) have had a baby boy," she tweeted on the morning of October 16. According to English, the baby boy was born at 1:58 p.m. on October 15, weighing in at 8 pounds and 9 ounces. Everyone is thrilled, and both mother and baby are doing wonderfully.
