Meghan Markle's Journey: From Taking Out Trash to Becoming a Duchess

Let’s talk about Meghan Markle. You know her now as the Duchess of Sussex, but her journey to this point wasn’t always so glamorous. Before she graced the world’s stage as a duchess and before she captivated audiences on the hit TV show "Suits," she was just a regular girl with big dreams. She even worked as a freelance calligrapher and a briefcase girl on "Deal or No Deal." But you might not know this—her first job ever was taking out the trash. Yep, even the glamorous Duchess of Sussex had to start somewhere, and it was right there in the trash bins.

From Trash to Treasure: Meghan's Early Days

Now, at 37, Meghan Markle’s life is nothing short of a fairytale. But her beginnings weren’t always as sparkly as her current royal life. During a visit to Macarthur Girls High in Sydney, Australia, on the fourth day of her tour with Prince Harry, Meghan opened up about her early days. She shared some powerful lessons she learned from those early experiences with the students, emphasizing how those humble beginnings shaped her into the woman she is today.

As Meghan spoke to the students, she couldn’t help but reflect on her own youth. “You guys all remind me so much of myself when I was growing up,” she told the girls, according to New Idea. She went on to describe her own educational experience, saying, “I went to an all-girls school which was incredibly diverse as well.”

    Her Journey Through Various Roles

During a previous interview, Meghan candidly spoke about her career path before becoming an actress. “I would put [Deal or No Deal] in the category of things I was doing while I was auditioning to try to make ends meet,” Meghan told Esquire in 2013. She continued, “I went from working in the US Embassy in Argentina to ending up on Deal. It’s run the gamut. Definitely working on Deal or No Deal was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing. So if that’s a way for me to gloss over that subject, then I will happily shift gears into something else.”

It’s safe to say that Meghan’s happiest moments now revolve around her current role as a duchess, but her past experiences have undoubtedly shaped her journey. Who knew that taking out the trash could lead to such an incredible life?
