Prince William's Africa Visit: A Touch of Humor and Heart

On Tuesday, September 25, the charming 36-year-old Duke of Cambridge made a stop in Namibia, and boy, did he know how to keep things lively. While addressing a crowd at the British High Commissioner's reception, he gave a playful nod to his beloved wife, Kate Middleton, who couldn't join him on this trip.
“I’m delighted to be visiting Namibia for the first time. I’m only sorry that my wife, Catherine, is not able to join me. She is immensely jealous,” Prince William joked, adding a delightful twist to his speech. “Particularly because I’m looking forward to a few good uninterrupted nights’ sleep this week away from my wonderful children.” Now, who wouldn't relate to needing a little peace and quiet after a long day with the kiddos, right?

She went on to explain, “Nothing can really prepare you for you the sheer overwhelming experience of what it means to become a mother. It is full of complex emotions of joy, exhaustion, love and worry, all mixed together. Your fundamental identity changes overnight. You go from thinking of yourself as primarily an individual to suddenly being a mother, first and foremost.”
