"We were both with other people when we were filming, and I think, respectfully, it just didn’t happen," she revealed. Olivia went on to describe their connection as more "sisterly" than anything else. It's like they were destined to be close friends rather than romantic partners.
Keeping That Tension Alive
Olivia continued, explaining how their decision not to date actually benefited the film. "I think it was good because I think it kept the tension there and the chemistry. It might have been a real disaster had we decided to date or we had a falling out or something," she said. Fast forward to today, and both Olivia and John are happily married. Olivia is with John Easterling, and John is with the late Kelly Preston. But despite their marriages, their friendship remains strong. In fact, Olivia has shared how supportive John has been during her battle with breast cancer. "He’s been wonderful. He calls and checks up on me," she said. "He came to one of my shows — right before this happened, actually, right before my diagnosis. I saw him, and I was hobbling around the dinner table because I was having trouble sitting down. And he was concerned." That’s real friendship right there.
