Hey there, friends! Let’s talk about someone truly special—Will Reeve, the son of the legendary Superman actor Christopher Reeve and the late actress Dana Reeve. Can you believe it? Back in October 2004, when Will was just 12 years old, his dad, Christopher, tragically passed away at the age of 52. Fast forward 14 years, and now at 26, Will has grown into an incredible young man who looks so much like his dad it’s almost uncanny. A Legacy of Strength and Courage
In 1995, Christopher faced one of the toughest challenges of his life—a devastating horse-riding accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. But here’s the thing about Christopher: he wasn’t one to let circumstances define him. Instead, he turned his pain into purpose by founding the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation. This organization was dedicated to advancing research and treatment options for spinal cord injuries. It was a cause close to his heart, and when Dana tragically lost her battle with lung cancer in March 2006 at the age of 44, the foundation was renamed to honor both Christopher and Dana—the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

Take a moment to look at this photo from 1997. It’s a beautiful snapshot of a family that faced challenges head-on with grace and dignity. This image captures the love and connection between Christopher, Dana, and young Will. It’s a reminder of the incredible bond they shared, even during the toughest times.
Continuing the Legacy
Just last November, Will was spotted walking the red carpet and delivering a heartfelt speech at the annual Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation fundraising gala in NYC. This event was a tribute to his parents and their enduring charitable legacy. At the 2017 gala, Will was joined by his older half-brother, Matthew Reeve, who’s 38 years old. Matthew, along with his sister, Alexandra Reeve Givens, 34, are Christopher’s children from his previous relationship with Gae Exton. Together, they continue to carry the torch for their father’s mission.
A Heartfelt Tribute
In a revealing interview with Closer Weekly, Will opened up about his late father, sharing how Christopher didn’t let his paralysis stop him from being an incredible parent. “He taught me how to ride a bike, just by telling me,” Will said. “He couldn’t physically help me because he was in a wheelchair, but that didn’t stop us from having one of those quintessential father-son experiences. He told me to trust him, and I did. And you know what? I succeeded.”

A Legacy Lives On
Today, Christopher’s three children—Will, Matthew, and Alexandra—continue to honor their father’s legacy in their own unique ways. In 2015, Alexandra and her husband, Garren Givens, welcomed their first child, naming him Christopher Russel Reeve Givens in honor of his late grandfather. It’s moments like these that remind us of the lasting impact Christopher Reeve had, not just as Superman on the big screen, but as a father, a husband, and a champion for those in need.
