Dennis Quaid's Kids: Meet His Children and Blended Family

When we talk about Dennis Quaid, the name brings to mind not just an incredible actor but a dedicated family man. In the iconic 1998 film The Parent Trap, Dennis played the role of Nick Parker, the handsome dad of two long-lost identical sisters. But off-screen, Dennis has a family life that's just as fascinating. He's a proud father of three—Jack, Zoe, and Thomas, including a set of twins! Let me tell you, this Golden Globe nominee has gone above and beyond to be the best dad he can be.

Marriage and Fatherhood Beginnings

Now, Dennis’s journey into fatherhood didn’t start right away. He was married to his first wife, P. J. Soles, from 1978 to 1983, but it wasn’t until he tied the knot with his second wife, the talented actress Meg Ryan, in 1991 that he became a dad. In 1992, Dennis and Meg welcomed their son, Jack. From the moment Jack arrived, Dennis was hooked. In a 2012 interview with Parade, he said, “I love being a dad, and I’m good at it. Kids teach you about life, like how not to focus on yourself so much.” Dennis truly embraced the role of being a father, learning and growing alongside his child.

A Growing Family

After Dennis and Meg parted ways in 2001, they decided not to have any more children. However, Dennis’s family grew again when he married his third wife, Kimberly Quaid (née Buffington), in 2004. In 2007, Dennis and Kimberly welcomed twins—a boy, Thomas, and a girl, Zoe. Raising toddlers wasn’t always easy, but Dennis found joy in every moment. “I love raising my two little kids,” he shared in 2012 with Home Business Mag. Even when they were testing his patience, Dennis saw the humor in it. “They want everything and don’t listen sometimes,” he joked, “but they’re getting funnier and turning into really smart people.”

Having already raised Jack, Dennis felt more confident with Zoe and Thomas. “I don’t worry so much anymore,” he explained. “I know they’ll go to college someday and won’t be wearing pull-ups for the rest of their lives.” That’s a relief, right? But there’s one thing Dennis refused to dwell on. “I am not allowing myself to think that I have a girl now, and that boys will be coming at some point,” he quipped. Dennis was more focused on having fun with his kids, making every moment count.

    A New Chapter in Life

Unfortunately, Dennis and Kimberly’s marriage came to an end in 2016, with Kimberly filing for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.” Their split was finalized in 2018. But life goes on, and Dennis found love again with his fourth wife, Laura Savoie, whom he married in 2020. Despite the ups and downs, Dennis remains a devoted father to his three children.
