“Turning 60 made me realize it was time to flip the page and try something fresh,” Hoda explained about her decision. “I remember standing outside the studio, looking at the crowd holding those amazing signs, and thinking, ‘This is the peak of my journey.’ It just felt right to move on and explore new horizons.”

Exploring Hoda Kotb’s Stunning NYC Apartment
While juggling her demanding role on one of America's most popular morning shows, Hoda lived in a breathtaking New York City apartment with her daughters during their early years. Nestled in Upper Manhattan, this home offered Hoda the ultimate convenience for commuting to the Today studios each day.
Before finding her dream NYC apartment, Hoda shared her humorous apartment-hunting experience. “The realtor was like, ‘Here’s the apartment I want to show you.’ She zoomed through it—‘This is the bedroom, now look over here, this is the living room!’ I was standing in one cramped room and couldn’t believe what they were trying to rent,” she recalled in a May 2016 interview with HuffPost.
Hoda’s former apartment was absolutely stunning. The views were breathtaking, and her kids had plenty of space to dress up, play with their toys, and just be kids. The neutral color palette and stylish furniture choices made the space both cozy and inviting.

Hoda eventually decided to move out of her NYC apartment and into a new home in 2024, marking a new chapter in her life.

Hoda’s Big Announcement: Moving to a New Home
In March 2024, Hoda revealed to her fans that she and her daughters were relocating. While she didn’t disclose the exact location, she mentioned that their new home would be in the New York suburbs.
“I’m moving myself and my kids to a new location. Obviously, it’s still in the New York area,” Hoda told her cohost Jenna Bush Hager on Today.
She elaborated on the decision during her “Making Space” podcast, sharing her thoughts on the move.
“My kids and I are getting ready to relocate to a new area for a different school. It made me reflect on my own experiences growing up and how often we moved,” she told her listeners.
On a June 3, 2024, episode of Today, Hoda announced that she had found a new home and planned to move in later that week.
“I was sitting at my desk this morning, where I sit every single morning. I light a candle, I journal, and I do my thing. And I thought to myself, ‘This is the last Monday I’ll be sitting at this desk,’ because we’re moving this week,” Hoda told her cohost.
Though the move was exciting, it was also bittersweet for Hoda, as it meant leaving behind the home where she raised her daughters.
“I remember them trying to crawl up the stairs, and now, they race up and down. And I remember the very first time we brought them home and carried them up those stairs in their car seats and placed them in their little cribs. All those memories are there,” she reminisced. “When I saw videos of them as little babies, I couldn’t believe how much they’ve grown.”
