Hey there, let's talk about what's happening with Megyn Kelly's show. Is it really the end of the road for Megyn Kelly Today after just a single year on the air? It might be! Megyn Kelly has been at the center of a firestorm over the past few days due to some seriously controversial comments she made about blackface during an episode of her show on Tuesday, October 23. Now, there are whispers that she may not return to her namesake talk show, which has been struggling with poor ratings since it launched last September.
The rumors really heated up when a pre-recorded episode from August 31 aired in the 9 a.m. slot on Thursday, October 25, instead of a fresh episode featuring Megyn. An NBC spokesperson commented, "Given the circumstances, Megyn Kelly Today will be on tape for the rest of the week." This move has sparked a lot of speculation about her future with the show.

What's Next for Megyn?
According to People, Megyn could be stepping away from the show for good before the new year begins. A source shared, "She is expected to leave the Today show at the end of the season in December." Before this controversy, Megyn was reportedly working on a potential shift within the network to focus more on political news. But now, her future at NBC is uncertain. An insider noted, "People at the Today show are not happy with Megyn right now," adding that "nobody knows what is going to happen with her next."

In addition to these developments, it's been reported that Megyn has parted ways with her talent agency, CAA. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that she has also hired an attorney named Bryan Freedman. CAA declined to comment on the matter, but the move is believed to stem from a conflict of interest since CAA also represents NBC News president Noah Oppenheim.
Megyn Issues an Apology
After questioning what was wrong with wearing a blackface Halloween costume, Megyn apologized both in an email to her colleagues and directly to viewers on air. She began Wednesday morning's show by saying, "I want to begin with two words: I'm sorry." She continued, "You may have heard that yesterday we had a conversation about political correctness and Halloween costumes... I defended the idea (of blackface), saying that as long as it was respectful and part of a Halloween costume, that it seemed OK. Well, I was wrong, and I am sorry."

Learning from the Backlash
She further explained, "I have never been a PC kind of person," but she acknowledged that she had learned from the backlash that "it is not OK for (blackface) to be part of any costume, Halloween or otherwise." Megyn went on to say, "This past year has been so painful for many people of color. The country feels so divided, and I have no wish to add to that pain and offense. I believe this is a time for more understanding, more love, more sensitivity and honor, and I want to be part of that. Thank you for listening and for helping me listen too." This situation has many of us curious to see how it all unfolds.
